Clint Eastwood Directs and Stars in Cry Macho This September (Trailer)

Clint Eastwood is back in front of and behind the camera for the very Gran Torino seeming Cry Macho.  Set in 1979, Clint stars as Mike Milo, a washed-up, alcoholic former rodeo star who now works as a horse breeder.  His ex-boss Howard Polk (Dwight Yoakam) hires Mike to head to Mexico and bring Howard’s son Rafo (Eduardo Minett) to the US, as Rafo has gotten himself in trouble south of the border.  On the drive back to the US, the pair bond and learn life lessons from each other while dealing with some challenges and threats that come up.  It definitely seems like the old man/kid dynamic from Gran Torino is back, as is Clint trying to impart what his character (and probably himself) believes a man should be and do.  The movie is based on a novel by author N. Richard Nash, who co-wrote the movie’s screenplay.  The movie will be out on September 17th in theaters and on HBO Max and you can check out the trailer below.
