Welcome to Raccoon City Reboots Resident Evil in November (Trailer)
After the over the top insanity of the Milla Jovovich series, Sony is rebooting Resident Evil with a new movie that will hew closer to the first two games, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. Set in 1998 (the year Resident Evil 2 came out), the series seems to be trying to mash-up the stories of Resident Evil 1 and 2, with Chris Redfield (Robbie Amell) and the STARS team heading to the Spencer Mansion while Claire (Kaya Scodelario) and Leon S. Kennedy (Avan Jogia) fighting zombies hordes in Raccoon City, specifically the city’s police station. Tom Hopper, Hannah John-Kamen, Donal Logue, Neal McDonough, Lily Gao, Chad Rook, and Marina Mazepa co-star with Johannes Roberts, who directed the 47 Meters Down movies and The Strangers: Prey at Night, is directing. The attempt to tell two games’ worth of story in one movie seems a little strange but hopefully, this is a fun action/horror movie for RE fans. The movie is in theaters on November 24th and you can check out the trailer below.
