James Wan Unleashes More Horror Insanity in January with M3GAN (Trailer)
After delivering the transcendent insanity of Malignant last year, James Wan is back, producing this time, for Blumhouse’s M3GAN, which hits theaters in January. The movie stars Allison Williams as Gemma, who is a robotics engineer, and she becomes the guardian of her niece Cady (Violet McGraw) after a tragic accident kills Cady’s parents. Trying to help her work through her grief, Gemma introduces Cady to M3GAN (Jenna Davis and Amie Donald), an advanced robotic companion that becomes Cady’s friend and protector. As with most movie robots/AI though, M3GAN begins to evolve and starts going rogue, killing people she believes threatens Cady or herself and getting well beyond Gemma’s control. It looks like hopefully some of the wackiness of Malignant is on display here and the movie is definitely wearing its Child Play influences on its sleeve. The movie was directed by Gerard Johnstone and it’s out on January 6th. Check out the new trailer below.
