Poirot Gets Spooky in A Haunting in Venice (Trailer)

Despite a mixed reception and not particularly spectacular box office run with last year’s Death on the Nile, Kenneth Branagh is back to star and direct a third entry in the modern Hercule Poirot series, A Haunting in Venice.  Based on the deeper cut Agatha Christie’s novel Hallowe’en Party, A Haunting in Venice find Poirot retired and living in the titular Italian city.  He reluctantly agrees to attend a seance on All Hallows Eve at a supposedly haunted mansion and, as always when Poirot is around, someone is murdered and Poirot gets into solving the crime.  The ensemble cast this time includes Michelle Yeoh, Kelly Reilly, Kyle Allen, Jamie Dornan, Camille Cottin, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Emma Laird, and Riccardo Scamarico.  It looks like it’s leaning into the haunted/horror aspect of the story but there will probably be some sort of rational explanation for the various ghosts and spooky occurrences that are happening.  A Haunting in Venice is in theaters on September 15th and you can check out the trailer below.
