The Beast Wars Begin in June with Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (Trailer)

The Transformers movie franchise has some of the worst films ever made but Bumblebee was a surprisingly solid soft reboot and it makes us cautiously optimistic for this summer’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.  Appealing to 90s kids like us, the movie is set in 1994 and features the theatrical debut of the Beast Wars characters, including Optimus Primal (Ron Perlman), Cheetor (Tongayi Chirisa), Rhinox (David Sobolov) and Airazor (Michelle Yeoh).  The Maximals have to team up with their counterparts the Autobots when Earth is threatened by Unicron (Colman Domingo), the intergalactic world devourer.  Peter Cullen returns as Optimus Prime with Pete Davidson, John DiMaggio, Liza Koshy, and Cristo Fernández voicing the other Autobots and Peter Dinklage voicing Scourge, the leader of the Terrorcons.  Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback are the main humans in the cast.  Steven Caple Jr., who directed Creed II, is directing and the movie is out on June 9th.  Check out the trailer below.
