The Hunger Games Return in November With The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (Trailer)
Almost a decade since The Hunger Games ended with Mockingjay Part 2 in 2015, we’re returning to Panem for the prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Set during the 10th Hunger Games, Tom Blyth stars as Coriolanus Snow, who would eventually become the ruthless President of Panem that we see in Katniss-era Hunger Games. In Songbirds and Snakes, he’s a mentor to District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler) and is instructed by Hunger Games architect Casca Highbottom (Peter Dinklage) to train her to be a spectacle and not just a survivor. Snow falls for Lucy and the pair plot to figure out how Lucy can escape the Games. Hunter Schafer, Viola Davis, Jason Schwartzman, Josh Andrés Rivera, and Burn Gorman co-star, and the movie was directed by Francis Lawrence, who directed all the films in the previous Hunger Games series except the first. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes opens on November 17th and you can check out the trailer below.
