The Whole Gang is Back For Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (Trailer)

13 years after the cult favorite movie hit theaters, the entire movie cast of Scott Pilgrim is back along with Edgar Wright and Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley for the Netflix anime series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.  The series finds Michael Cera back as Scott Pilgrim, who plays in the band Sex Bob-Omb and becomes infatuated with Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).  The only problem with Ramona is she has a League of Evil Exes that are determined to destroy anyone who wants to date Ramona, forcing Scott to battle them in an over-the-top fashion.  Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Jason Schwartzman, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh, Johnny Simmons, Satya Bhabha, Mae Whitman, and Ellen Wong are all back as their movie characters, and the show is also tying in the excellent Scott Pilgrim vs The World video game by have the band Anamanaguchi provide the show’s score.  O’Malley is writing the series with BenDavid Grabinski and Wright is executive producing the show with Science Saru’s Abel Góngora directing the series.  It looks exactly like the graphic novel, which is what you would want from a Scott Pilgrim series, and it seems like the best of all Scott Pilgrim worlds colliding.  The series arrives on Netflix on November 17th and you can check out the trailer below.
