Zack Snyder Brings Epic Sci-Fi to Netflix with Rebel Moon (Trailer)

Originally pitched to Lucasfilm as a new, mature take on Star Wars, Zack Snyder is forging his own sci-fi universe on Netflix starting in December with Rebel Moon.  Sofia Boutella stars as Kora, a former soldier of the oppressive Imperium that rules the galaxy from the Mother World.  Trying to live in peace and find redemption on the moon of Veldt, her new home is threatened by the Imperium and she sets out across the galaxy to recruit a team of warriors who can stand against the Imperium and defend the people of Veldt.  Djimon Hounsou, Michael Huisman, Charlie Hunnam, Staz Nair, Doona Bae, Ed Skrein, Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman, Jena Malone, Anthony Hopkins, and Fra Fee co-star and Snyder co-wrote the movie with Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten along with directing.  It looks like it’s pulling inspiration not only from Star Wars but stuff like Warhammer 40K and Dune along with things like Kurosawa movies and it seems like if it all works together, it will be absolutely epic.  Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire hits Netflix on December 22nd and then Part 2: The Scargiver hits Netflix on April 19th next year.  Check out the trailer below.
