The Demons Return in The Exorcist: Believer (Trailer)
The team behind Blumhouse’s Halloween trilogy is back this October to take on another horror classic, The Exorcist, with The Exorcist: Believer. Directed by David Gordon Green with a story by Danny McBride, Green, and Scott Teems, The Exorcist: Believer is following the Halloween playbook, picking up as a direct sequel to the original William Friedkin classic and ignoring all the other sequels and prequels. This time around, two girls are possessed after they disappear in the woods for days. Upon returning, their parents notice they are behaving strangely. The father of one of the girls, played by Leslie Odom Jr., starts to believe they might be the victims of demonic possession and finds someone who has experienced it before, Chris MacNeil, played by Ellen Burstyn reprising her role from the original movie. It looks suitably creepy but Green’s Halloween movies ranged from good to a dumpster fire with Halloween Ends, so expectations are definitely in check for this new horror trilogy. The Exorcist: Believer arrives just in time for the spooky season on October 6th and you can check out the new trailer below.
