Folk Horror Hits Theaters in December with Lord of Misrule
A new priest in a small English town discovers her new home has dark secrets in the upcoming folk horror movie, Lord of Misrule. During a harvest festival featuring a member of the town being dubbed the titular Lord of Misrule, an ancient tradition, Rebecca Holland’s (Tuppence Middleton) daughter Grace (Evie Templeton) disappears and the priest is desperate to find her. Rebecca’s search reveals that the town seems to follow darker, ancient beliefs and her daughter may have fallen victim to something evil lurking within the town. It looks like if you’re a fan of the OG Wicker Man or the Netflix movie Apostle, this will be right up your alley. Ralph Ineson and Matt Stokoe co-star and the movie is directed by William Brent Bell, who previously directed The Boy and Orphan: First Kill. Lord of Misrule is out on December 8th in theaters and digital and you can check out the trailer below.
