War Has Led to the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (Trailer)
Picking up from the fantastic reboot trilogy directed by Rupert Wyatt and Matt Reeves, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes continues the story years after Caesar’s battle for apekind’s future. In the oasis established by Caesar before he died in War for the Planet of the Apes, many ape clans have risen and ape civilization continues to evolve while humankind has regressed into a feral, tribal state. A despotic ape ruler, Proxima Caeser (Kevin Durand) is corrupting the teachings of Caesar to enslave the other ape clans and a young ape Noa (Owen Teague) must set out on a quest to find a buried secret of old human technology with a young female human, Mae (Freya Allen). Travis Jeffery, Peter Macon and William H. Macy co-star and Wes Ball, who directed the Maze Runner trilogy, is directing. The big test will be if this series can survive without Andy Serkis, who brought so much emotional depth and gravitas to his performance as Caesar, but the apes look great and it looks like we are inching even closer to the story of the OG Planet of the Apes. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes arrives in theaters next year on May 24th and you can check out the trailer below.
