Mads Mikkelsen Tries to Tame The Promised Land in February (Trailer)
Based on true events, Mads Mikkelsen tries to tame a seemingly uninhabitable piece of land in the upcoming historical epic, The Promised Land. Mikkelsen is Ludvig Kahlen, a noble but impoverished war hero who takes on a mission to turn a patch of land known as a heath into a flourishing farm. Kahlen believes if he succeeds, he’ll earn the favor of the king and gain a noble title. Along with the inhospitable nature of the land itself, Kahlen also has to deal with local noble, Frederik De Schinkel (Simon Bennebjerg), who sees Kahlen as a rival that needs to be snuffed out. The movie was directed by Danish filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel, who previously directed A Royal Affair along with the middling adaptation of The Dark Tower. The Promised Land is out on February 2nd next year and you can check out the trailer below.
