The First Omen Births Evil in April (Trailer)
While we’ve seen late sequels to horror classics like Halloween and The Exorcist in recent years, 70s classic The Omen is getting a prequel in April this year with The First Omen. Starring Nell Tiger Free, one of the stars of Servant on Apple TV+, she is an American woman sent to a church in Rome. While there, she uncovers a sinister conspiracy to give birth to the Antichrist. Sônia Braga, Ralph Ineson, Bill Nighy, Tawfeek Barhom, and Nicole Sorace co-star and Arkasha Stevenson, who worked on Channel Zero, Legion, and Brand New Cherry Flavor, is directing. The trailer is suitably moody (helped by the theme from Vikings), but we know Damien will be born and is definitively the Antichrist, so it will be interesting to see how and if they can generate dramatic tension with a foregone conclusion.
