The Last Airbender Comes to Netflix in February (Trailer)
Netflix is hoping the second time is the charm as the globally beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender comes to live action in a new series in February. Adapting the animated series that originally aired on Nickelodeon, Gordon Cormier stars as Aang, the titular Last Airbender and the Avatar, who can control all four of the world’s elemental powers: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Teaming up with Katara (Kiawentiio) and Sokka (Ian Ousley), Aang sets out to learn how to control all four elements and stop the ruthless conquest of the Fire Nation, led by Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). Relentlessly pursuing the main trio is Zuko (Dallas Liu), the scarred and disgraced prince of the Fire Nation, who believes capturing the Avatar will reinstate him in the good graces of his home kingdom and father. The M. Night Shyamalan version of Avatar is one of the worst movies ever made but Netflix has had success recently with live-action adaptions like One Piece. Then again, they also had Cowboy Bebop fail spectacularly. The stakes are high for fans and we’ll find out where Avatar: The Last Airbender lands on February 22nd. Check out the trailer below.
