Everything Action Theater: Osmosis Jones (2001)
Audiences are heading back into Riley’s head this weekend when Inside Out 2 hits theaters, but in 2001, we went inside Bill Murray for the live-action/animation hybrid Osmosis Jones, which you can watch in the latest Everything Action Theater. Murray played Frank, a zookeeper who contracts a virus called Thrax (Laurence Fishburne), aka “La Muerte Roja,” who causes Frank to suffer all manner of side effects while conducting his nefarious criminal activities in Frank’s body, aka The City of Frank and looking to stop him his white blood cell cop Osmosis Jones (Chris Rock) and Drix (David Hyde Pierce) a special agent cold pill: Brandy, William Shatner, Molly Shannon, Chris Elliott, and Ron Howard co-star. The Farrelly Brothers directed the live-action segments, while Piet Kroon and Tom Sito directed the animation. The movie was a commercial failure at the box office, but it did have a Kids WB spin-off, Ozzy & Drix, that ran for two seasons and totaled 26 episodes. Phil LaMarr and Jeff Bennett took over for Chris Rock and David Hyde Pierce. You can watch the entire movie below, courtesy of YouTube.
