John Cho Faces an Evil Smart House in Afraid (Trailer)
Blumhouse returns to the world of evil AI in August when Afraid opens in theaters. John Cho and Katherine Waterson play a couple whose family is selected to test a revolutionary new smart home device, AIA. Beyond Siri or Alexa, AIA learns the family’s behaviors, anticipates their needs, and can seemingly handle anything. However, AIA soon starts doing sinister things to try and manipulate the family’s kids, with her ultimate goal seemingly to usurp the parents and take them as her own. Riki Lindhome, Havana Rose Liu, David Dastamalchian, Lukita Maxwell, Greg Hill, and Keith Carradine co-star. Chris Weitz, who directed The Golden Compass and The Twilight Saga: New Moon, is directing the movie. Afraid is out on August 30th, and you can check out the trailer below.
