Francis Ford Coppola Unleashes Megalopolis in September (Trailer)
After receiving a “mixed” reception at Cannes and some early industry screenings, Francis Ford Coppola’s ambitious epic Megalopolis is arriving in theaters in September. Adam Driver stars as Cesar Catilina, an architect who can stop time. When a disaster destroys the city of New Rome, Catilina sees it as an opportunity to rebuild the city as a sustainable utopia that will benefit all the citizens, while Mayor Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito) is determined to keep things how they are, where the rich have all the power and the poor struggle to survive. In the middle is Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor’s daughter, who falls for Cesar. Aubrey Plaza, Laurence Fishburne, Jon Voigh, Shia LaBeouf, Talia Shire, Jason Schwartzman, Kathryn Hunter and Grace VanderWaal co-star. The project is a passion project for Coppola, who invested $120 million of his own money to finance it. Megalopolis is out on September 27th, and you can check out the latest trailer below.
