Paramount+ Gets Two New Originals in March (Trailers)
Shockingly, not from Taylor Sheridan, Paramount+ is getting two new original series this month: MobLand and Happy Face.
MobLand comes from Guy Ritchie and is firmly in his wheelhouse of the British criminal underworld. Pierce Brosnan heads the Harrigan family, who are at war for power with the Stevensons gang. Helen Mirren is the Harrigans’ matriarch, with Tom Hardy co-starring as Harry De Souza, the Harrigans’ primary enforcer and fixer—Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, and Jasmine Jobson co-star. The series starts on March 30th.
Happy Face is an adaptation of the 2018 true-crime podcast by the same name. It stars Annaleigh Ashford as Melissa Moore. Her father, played by Dennis Quaid, is the notorious “Happy Face Killer” who used his job as a trucker to kill at least eight women, many of them sex workers. In the series, Melissa’s father reaches out and claims to have information on a victim that the authorities haven’t found but he will only talk to his daughter to reveal the details: James Wolk, David Harewood, Tamera Tomakili, Khiyla Aynne, and Benjamin Mackey co-star. Robert and Michelle King, the team behind The Good Wife, The Good Fight, Evil , and more, are the series’ creators. Happy Face starts on March 20th.
