Review: Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City
After the over the top insanity of the Paul WS Anderson/Milla Jovovich Resident Evil series, Welcome to Raccoon City is a more faithful adaptation of the games and has quite a bit to make fans happy but its decision to cram Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 into one short movie makes a lot of it feel rushed and underbaked.

Edgar Wright returns with his follow-up to Baby Driver, the intriguing psychological thriller/horror movie Last Night in Soho which lacks some of his normal kinetic visual style and humor but still oozes style and an interesting time-hopping mystery led by two great performances by Thomasin McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy.
Horror Villain of the Week: Dr. Jack Griffin
While working for Dr. Cranley to try and develop a new method of food preservation, Dr. Jack Griffin discovers a formula to render a person invisible and tests it on himself. Realizing he doesn’t know how to reverse the process, he goes into isolation to try and find a solution but slowly goes mad from the side effects of the chemicals he used.
Review: Warning
The new sci-fi movie Warning features some interesting ideas and a solid cast, but it never fully explores its interesting ideas or links them together in any meaningful or compelling ways.
Review: Dune
After the visual spectacle of Arrival and Blade Runner 2049, director Denis Villeneuve has delivered his current magnum opus with the new Dune, which features jaw-dropping production design and special effects while also making the characters and plot interesting and understandable even if you’ve never read all 400+ pages of Frank Herbert’s epic.
Horror Villain of the Week: Blade
Created by puppeteer André Toulon, Blade is one of the leaders of the Marionette Warriors, puppets imbued with life by the Puppet Master. Depending on the intentions of the Puppet Master, Blade and the other warriors can act for good or evil as they’ve both fought and defeated a Nazi threat and slaughtered innocent people based on who is controlling them.
Review: Halloween Kills
While it has some brutal kills from the OG bogeyman, Michael Myers, and some solid fan service, Halloween Kills mostly feels like wheel-spinning before the actual conclusion of the Michael/Laurie battle in next year’s Halloween Ends.
