An homage to 80s classics like Bloodsport and Kickboxer, The Last Kumite was funded on Kickstarter and recently released on 4K/Blu-ray.  Along with featuring appearances from the likes of Billy Blanks, Mathias Hues, and Cynthia Rothrock, the movie also features a score from composer Paul Hertzog and original songs from the legendary Stan Bush, including the title song “No Surrender.”

Max and Sam Eggers follow their brother Robert to A24 for the upcoming psychological horror movie The Front Room, which sees Brandy Norwood return to horror for the first time since 1998’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. 

Colin Farrell returns as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot in the upcoming limited Max series, The Penguin. 

This weekend’s The Bikeriders is the latest movie focusing on the world of outlaw motorcycle gangs, but the OG was 1953’s The Wild One, starring Marlon Brando in one of his most iconic roles. 

Following the success of 2022’s Smile, the sinister curse continues in October with Smile 2.

Beverly Hills Ninja is out on Blu-ray for the first time this week along with Bolero, American Fiction, Robocop (2014) and Robocop 2 on 4K, Bound on Criterion 4K, a Special Edition 4K of American Gigolo and more in the New Release Round Up.

After months of seemingly endless disappointments at the box office, Inside Out 2 exploded this past weekend with the biggest opening of the year and the biggest opening since Barbie last summer.

Although it feels like it would be more at home on the soundtrack for a Bad Boys movie, “#1” by Nelly was the lead single off the soundtrack for 2001’s Training Day.

Inside Out 2 is the big wide release this weekend in theaters alongside some smaller limited released while Netflix has Ultraman: Rising and more in Admit One.

Doug Liman delivered the new Road House on Prime Video earlier this year and in August he’s jumping over to Apple TV+ for the heist action/comedy The Instigators, starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck.
