The Marvels arrives in theaters this weekend while David Fincher’s latest, The Killer, hits Netflix, there’s a new Digimon movie and more in theaters and on streaming this weekend.

The Waterboy turns 25 today, originally released in theaters on November 6th, 1998.  Along with a soundtrack full of classic rock from the likes of Rush, The Allman Brothers, and Credence Clearwater Revival, the punk rock band Goldfinger performed a cover of the song “More Today Than Yesterday”, which played over the movie’s credits.

November kicks off with The Marsh King’s Daughter, Priscilla and What Happens Later as the big theatrical wide releases while Netflix has the thriller Locked In, Hulu has the Awkwafina/Sandra Oh comedy Quiz Lady and more in theaters and on streaming.

Along with featuring co-star Tuesday Knight’s song “Nightmare” and The Fat Boys “Get Ready for Freddy?” the soundtrack for A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master also featured “Back to the Wall” by Divinyls. 

Five Nights at Freddy’s opens in theaters and streams on Peacock this weekend while Pain Hustlers debuts on Netflix, Suitable Flesh is in theater and on Shudder, John Cena and Alison Brie co-star in Freelance and more in theaters and on streaming.

Bookending Jason’s boat trip and brief visit to New York City in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan was the song “The Darkest Side of the Night” by Metropolis, which plays during the opening and closing credits

Martin Scorsese’s latest epic, Killers of the Flower Moon, opens in theaters this weekend along with a deranged Nicolas Cage in Butcher’s Crossing, Bill Burr’s comedy Old Dads hits Netflix, a new Shudder original Night of the Hunted and more on streaming and in theaters.

Sounding more like the opening to an 80s sitcom than a horror movie, you nevertheless hear “Say the Word” by The Facade Band at least 3 times over the course of the ridiculous Primal Rage from 1988.

Taylor Swift’s world domination continues in theaters this weekend with the filmed version of The Eras Tour while Lil Rel Howery is caught in The Mill on Hulu, Jamie Foxx defends Tommy Lee Jones in court on Prime Video in The Burial and more on streaming and in theaters.

Coming out in 2018 off the album Simulation Theory, Muse’s “Thought Contagion” has some creepy vibes in the music but it’s being featured in Musical Montage for its neon-drenched music video that is partially an homage to “Thriller”. 

David Gordon Green goes from Halloween to The Exorcist this weekend with The Exorcist: Believer while the final film from William Friedkin, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, is on Showtime, the buzzy erotic thriller Fair Play hits Netflix, Totally Killer is on Prime Video, VHS 85 on Shudder and more in theaters and on streaming.
