Sonic the Hedgehog 2 speeds into theaters this weekend along with the latest from Michael Bay, Ambulance, All the Old Knives on Prime Video, Metal Lords on Netflix, and more on streaming and in theaters.

Released when No Time to Die was going to hit theaters in early 2020, the journey of Billie Eilish’s theme song “No Time to Die” culminated last weekend when it won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Morbius finally arrives in theaters this weekend after multiple delays but it was apparently not worth the wait according to critics while there’s also Chris Pine in The Contractor, new Shudder original Night’s End, Noomi Rapace in You Won’t Be Alone and more in theaters and on streaming/VOD.

Along with his various acting roles over the years, including this weekend’s Morbius, Jared Leto has been the lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars, a band he formed in 1998 with his brother Shannon Leto and has gone on to make five studio albums and hit singles like “The Kill” and “Kings and Queens”

Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum team up for this weekend’s biggest movie, The Lost City, while there are a bunch of smaller releases in more limited release, including the Michelle Yeoh movie Everything Everywhere All at Once, the horror movie You Are Not My Mother and more.

The first Hunger Games movie turns 10 this week and one of the major ways it was promoted was via its soundtrack album, The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond, which featured the pairing of Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars for the single “Safe & Sound”.

There are tons of options in theaters and at home this weekend including the latest from horror director Ti West, X, Black Crab and Windfall on Netflix, Deep Water on Hulu, Master on Prime Video, a new Cheaper by the Dozen on Disney+ and more.

Going back to his early days as a lounge singer, Joe Pesci recorded the album Vincent LaGuardia Gambini Sings Just for You in 1998, which he performed on in character as Vinny Gambini from My Cousin Vinny and which featured the “rap” song, “Wise Guy”, which got an official music video starring Pesci.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary today, Jungle 2 Jungle was the third big collaboration between Disney and Tim Allen following The Santa Clause and Toy Story and featured lots of World Music on its soundtrack, including the song “It Starts in the Heart” from reggae fusion superstar Maxi Priest.
