During the doldrums of a cold February, there is nothing better to curl up with a loved one and also doing the things you love, like gaming. We swung through space in VR with Straylight, went on a few dates in Ten Dates, tried to survive the dangers of Journey to the Savage Planet: Employee of the Month Edition, play some abstract chess, and more. 

We tried a remake of the adventure game classic Colossal Cave, served up some fast food and crime in Definitely Not Friend Chicken, rocked out in the roguelike Power Chord, and more for our collection of reviews in the Gamebox.

There were no tricks and plenty of treats for the games we got to check out for October. We started the spooky times with the old-school adventure game Unusual Findings, explored abstract terror in The Fridge is Red, went futuristic in the Deadlink, sharpen our detective skills in The Case of the Golden Idol, and more for this month’s install of the Gamebox.

After putting their 4v1 spin on franchises like Friday the 13th and Predator, Illfonic brings the next level of ghost combat in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. This new asymmetric multiplayer game lets you either bust ghosts as a fresh-faced ghostbuster or be the ghost that terrorizes the night.  Zach and Chris both got to check out the title and share their thoughts below.

The September weather got a bit colder, but these new releases were firey hot with action. We investigated a VR murder in Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate, returned to the Wasteland for the demo of Turbo Kid, cleaned up crime scenes with the Serial Cleaners, battled as a blind bionic samurai in Blind Fate: Edo no Yami, and more.  Check out everything we played below in the Game Box.

The world’s a filthy place and it needs tidying up. One beloved vacuum robot is on a quest to rescue its owners and deliver some much-needed punishment in Samurai Punk and Tinybuild’s Justice Sucks. Integrating stealth, tactics, and bubbly brutality, Justice Sucks is a hilarious action-packed title that lets players live out their killer robotic fantasy.

Developed by Waking Oni Games and published by Whitethorn Games, Onsen Master is an arcade-style bathhouse management sim, set in a fantasy version of feudal Japan. Players step into the role of a bathhouse attendant that has to handle customers, scrub tubs and ensure customer satisfaction, even if some of those customers are supernaturally stubborn

Summer is coming to an end but that doesn’t mean the hot gaming season has slowed down one bit. August has been a packed month for games we played and you should know about.
