The Raven Trailer

Coming out in March of next year is The Raven, which imagines Edgar Allen Poe as a Sherlock Holmesesque detective, played by John Cusack.  There’s a serial killer running loose in 19th century Baltimore, basing his kills on Poe’s short stories so a detective (Luke Evans) enlists the author’s help to catch the killer.  Things get personal when the killer kidnaps Poe’s wife/finance (Alice Eve) in order to ensure Poe keeps playing his game.  The movie comes from James McTeigue, who previously directed V for Vendetta and Ninja Assassin and definitely is in the Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes mold, trying to make Poe more bad ass and cool but it looks like it could be fun, especially seeing how they’ll translate Poe stories into murders.  Check out the trailer below.
