Musical Montage: Mavis Staples “Christmas Vacation”
Depending on how much you love Christmas, Christmas Vacation could easily be argued as the best movie in the Vacation series, neck and neck with the original. Clark Griswold attempts to keep his sanity when the entire family arrives for a good old fashioned Christmas that quickly gets out of hand with terrible turkey dinners, rampaging squirrels, electrocuted cats and more. Christmas Vacation is the only movie in the series to not use Lindsay Buckingham’s “Holiday Road” and instead uses the yuletide themed (and appropriately named) “Christmas Vacation” by Mavis Staples.
