Musical Montage: By Maker “Misgiving”
We watched I, Frankenstein for this month’s Everything Action Commentary (hitting on Thursday this week), and along with hunky Frankenstein’s Monster and the eternal war between gargoyles and demons, there was the requisite nu-metal/rock on the soundtrack, like “Misgiving” by By Maker. Seemingly formed simply for this movie’s soundtrack, By Maker consisted of Geno Lenardo, the former guitarist for Filter, and Daniel Davies, a composer and songwriter. Davies is the godson of John Carpenter and worked on Carpenter’s Lost Themes and Lost Themes II along with being in the bands CKY, Year Long Disaster, and Karma to Burn. He’s also the son of The Kinks guitarist Dave Davies. Lenardo left Filter in 2002 and that band was no stranger to movie soundtracks, contributing to Spawn, The X-Files movie, The Crow: City of Angels, and more. By Maker released a music video for “Misgiving”, which plays over the end credits of I, Frankenstein, but it, unfortunately, doesn’t seem to have anything to do with Adam Frankenstein, gargoyles, or demons. Check it out below.
