Musical Montage: Ariana DeBose, Boy George, Nile Rodgers “Electric Energy”
Along with some sort of title track from co-star Dua Lipa, this week’s release of Argylle also includes a song featuring another of the movie’s stars, Ariana DeBose, teaming up with Boy George and Nile Rodgers for “Electric Energy”. The song will play over the movie’s end credits and is inspired by retro disco songs, especially by disco artist Sylvester. DeBose filmed Argylle before winning an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for West Side Story and, after her win, Vaughn approached her with doing a song on the movie’s soundtrack. For the music video, DeBose, Boy George, and Nile Rodgers all appear, along with most of DeBose’s co-stars; Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Samuel L. Jackson, Sam Rockwell, and Henry Cavill, who are lip-syncing (with various levels of enthusiasm) to the song. Check it out below.
