Brandy Faces An Evil Stepmother in The Front Room (Trailer)

Max and Sam Eggers follow their brother Robert to A24 for the upcoming psychological horror movie The Front Room, which sees Brandy Norwood return to horror for the first time since 1998’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.  Brandy plays an expectant mother whose husband (Andrew Burnap) finds out that his father has died.  A stipulation of his will is that they must take in Burnap’s stepmother, played by Kathryn Hunter, who promises to give them all the money she has.  While she’s rude, racist, and demanding, Brandy soon starts to suspect that there is something much darker going on.  Neal Huff co-stars.  Robert Eggers directed The Witch and The Lighthouse for A24, and his brothers are making their directorial debuts.  The movie is based on the short story of the same name by Susan Hill, which was included in her collection The Travelling Bag and Other Ghostly Stories.  The Front Room opens on September 6th, and you can check out the trailer below.
