Musical Montage: South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut opened 25 years ago this past weekend, and the songs on the movie’s soundtrack are as catchy and memorable as ever. South Park co-creator Trey Parker wrote the movie’s songs with composer Marc Shaiman, and they parodied everything from Disney musicals to Les Miserables. There were 14 songs included in the film, and “Blame Canada” emerged as the critical favorite, getting nominated for Best Original Song at the 72nd Academy Awards. It was performed by Robin Williams during the Oscar telecast. “Blame Canada” lost to Phil Collins and “You’ll Be in My Heart” from Disney’s Tarzan. You can listen to some of the songs from South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut below.
