Awkwafina Hits the Jackpot! in August on Prime Video (Trailer)

Set in the near future, Awkwafina wins the lottery but has to survive the entire city of Los Angeles trying to kill her for the prize in the upcoming action/comedy Jackpot!  Returning to Los Angeles to try and kickstart an acting career, Katie Kim (Awkwafina) finds herself as the winner of the multi-billion dollar Grand Lottery jackpot.  The only catch to collecting her money is that if someone kills her before sundown, they get the prize, and Katie gets dead.  Katie teams up with a “Lottery Protection Agent,” Noel Cassidy, played by John Cena, who offers to protect her for a prize cut.  Noel’s big time rival Louis Lewis (Simu Liu) wants the commission from protecting Katie and will try and get it any cost.  Paul Feig directs, and it feels a bit like a cross between The Running Man and The Purge.  The movie hits Prime Video on August 15th, and you can check out the trailer below.
