The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water Trailer

It’s been 10 years since the residents of Bikini Bottom last appeared on the big screen but, next year, they’ll be back in a way you’ve never seen them before.  When an evil pirate, played by Antonio Banderas, collects all but one page of a magical book that will allow him to write any evil plan and have it come true.  The final page is in Bikini Bottom, so he launches an assault on the town.  Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy and Mr. Krabs decide they have to get the book from him to stop him, which means leaving the ocean and coming to the surface world, where they turn into 3D, CG versions of themselves.  At some point, they turn into superhero versions of themselves for the big battle against the pirate, Alameda Jack.  It looks like the typical Spongebob wackiness and it should be fun to see them interact with humans on the surface.  The movie is out in February and you can check out the trailer below.
