Sonic, Knuckles and Tails Battle Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Trailer)
Sonic and his pals are back in theaters just in time for Christmas as they battle the new threat of Shadow the Hedgehog (Keanu Reeves) in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey), and Knuckles (Idris Elba) are living peacefully in Green Hills with Tom (James Marsden) and Maddie (Tika Sumpter) when the combined forces of Shadow, Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and Gerald Robotnik (also Carrey) arrive with a new plot that could destroy all life on the planet. Krysten Ritter, Natasha Rothwell, Lee Majdoub, Tom Butler, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore and Alyla Browne co-star. Reeves and director Jeff Fowler got deep into Shadow lore. They ensured they included iconic imagery like his motorcycle and the use of firearms. Other easter eggs and fan shoutouts include turning the Chao Garden that first appeared in Sonic Adventure into a Chuck E. Cheese-style restaurant/arcade. The entire series has been surprisingly fun, and hopefully, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will keep up the same mix of humor, action, and fan service.
