There was plenty to love this month in video games, including the latest Steam Next Fest and many new releases we checked out.  We dove underwater for the return of Amiga shooter X-Out, led astronauts to safety on the Moons of Darsalon, hunted bounties in the demo for Neon Inferno, entered the deadly reality show of Kiborg, and felt the rhythm in the RPG Everhood 2.  Check out all the games we played below in this Gamebox 2.o.

As 2024 is coming to a close, we played the latest releases of December to keep us gaming into the New Year. We returned to Antarctica to survive against terror in The Thing: Remastered. Crashed and bashed our way through whacky levels in Antonblast. Became a space ace frog pilot in Entropy Survivors. And we explored virtual spaces in Exercise Your Demons and the House of Da Vinci VR. Read our reviews for this month of the Gamebox 2.0. 

We’re thankful to be able to check out several new games this month in the latest Gamebox 2.0.  We experienced realistic combat in Six Days in Fallujah, went old-school with the arcadey Slam & Roll, tried to build a kingdom in Monarchy, and played through the history of Tetris in Tetris Forever.  Check out our thoughts and reviews this month down below.

This October the Gamebox 2.0 gave us a few tricks and plenty of treats. We got to reunite with some old friends on the baseball diamond for Backyard Baseball ’97, went Beyond Shadowgate for the sequel to the NES adventure game, combined tactics and deck building in Dark Sky, and unleashed our inner Bridezilla in Lethal Wedding. As we get into a cozy fall season, the games we played this month haven’t slowed down the fun. For this month of Gamebox 2.0, we hit the borderline of madness in Edge of Sanity, battled zombies in Blood Purge, fought unholy abominations in Immortal Hunters, and gunned down some meaty invaders in Iron Meat. Due to recent website issues we were delayed in showing what the world of video games had for us in August.  We entered VR for an homage to the classic Point Blank series, On Point, and played the sequel to the brutally hard action platformer Volgarr the Viking, a fantastical adventure 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with Verne: The Shape of Fantasy, journeyed into the Dark and Deep and more!

The heatwaves this summer made it a no brainer to sit in a cool room and play freshly released titles. We commanded battle mechs in Kriegsfront Tactics – Prologue, fought the BB Bang in Cyber Citizen Shockman Zero, completed a shift in Willy’s Wonderland and solved puzzles with an alien partner in DROS. The temperatures are just right for a good time to crank the AC and play video games this month.
