Based on the book “The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan”, Tina Fey stars as reporter Kim Barker in next year’s war comedy, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Seeing reporting on the war in the Middle East as an escape from her boring desk job, Baker arrives in Afghanistan and follows the troops, meets with local political leaders and befriends other foreigners like Margot Robbie and Martin Freeman. Alfred Molina and Billy Bob Thornton co-star and it’s co-directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who previously worked together on Bad Santa, Focus and Crazy Stupid Love.
