One of the earliest directorial efforts from the great Wes Craven, Summer of Fear debuted on NBC on Halloween night in 1978, and you can check it out in the latest Everything Action Theater. Also known as Stranger in Our House, Summer of Fear is based on the 1976 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan. Linda Blair stars as Rachel Bryant, whose family takes in her cousin Julia (Lee Purcell) after her parents and housekeeper die in a car accident. Excited at first, Rachel becomes increasingly concerned as terrible things start happening to her and Julia starts to usurp her life, taking her boyfriend and getting close to Rachel’s best friend. Rachel eventually suspects that Julia may actually be a witch and needs to gather evidence to convince her family before it’s too late. The movie got a theatrical release in Europe and was released on Blu-ray in 2017. You can check out the entire movie below via YouTube.
