Toy Story 5 is in theaters this weekend, but Moonbeam Entertainment told a different toy story in 1993 with Remote, which you can watch in the latest Everything Action Theater. Distributed by Paramount, Moonbeam was actually the family-friendly label of Full Moon Features, purveyors of Puppet Master and Trancers.  Chris Carrara stars as Randy Mason, a kid who is obsessed with remote control toys and models. Getting expelled from school when a bully causes one of his planes to crash into a classroom, Randy hides all of his toys at a nearby model home. He becomes trapped in the attic of the home when a trio of criminals uses it as a hideout following a convenience store robbery, and he has to figure out some way to contact help and possibly force the criminals to leave. If it sounds like it’s a Home Alone knockoff, you’re right, but it has a weird charm of its own. The movie was released direct-to-video in September 1993 and on Blu-ray in February 2022. You can watch the entire movie below via YouTube.
