This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris head to Eternia and discuss Cannon’s take on Masters of the Universe as the new movie featuring He-Man and the gang hits theaters.
Dolph Lundgren stars as He-Man, who battles with Man-At-Arms (Jon Cypher) and Teela (Chelsea Field) to free their homeworld of Eternia from the grip of Skeletor (Frank Langella) and his minions. Coming across a Thenurian inventor named Gwildor (Billy Barty), he shows the group his Cosmic Key, which lets them teleport anywhere in the galaxy. Forced to flee Skeletor’s forces, He-Man and his crew end up on Earth, and two high schoolers, Julie (Courtney Cox) and Kevin (Robert Duncan McNeill), get drawn into the fight. Zach and Chris discuss how Gwildor takes over the movie, the movie’s original weirdo villains, Cannon’s sinking finances, and the waning popularity of MotU, the last-minute addition of time travel, and more.
You can watch Masters of the Universe on Prime Video. Next week, we’re discussing Super 8, which is turning 15, and as the movie’s producer, Steven Spielberg, has a new alien movie hitting theaters, Disclosure Day.
