The next TV entry in the DC Universe arrives in August with Lanterns on HBO Max. Kyle Chandler plays Hal Jordan, who is training new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierce). The duo head to the small town of Rushville, Nebraska, to investigate a murder that reveals an intergalactic threat. Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Ulrich Thomsen, Nicole Ari Parker, Jason Ritter, Sherman Augustus, and Paul Ben-Victor co-star, with Nathan Fillion reprising his new DC Universe role of fellow Lantern Guy Gardner. The series was created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King. Previous trailers leaned into the True Detective side of the show, but this Comic Con trailer really shows off the comic book nature, with Lantern powers, aliens, Sinestro (Thomsen), and off-world locales.
