Marvel Comics announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 that Indiana Jones will return to the publisher this December in Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium, a new five-issue limited series from writer Jason Aaron and artist Aaron Kuder.
Set shortly after the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark, the series follows Indy as he reunites with Marion Ravenwood to stop familiar enemies from obtaining a powerful biblical artifact known as the Sword of Pandemonium. The globe-trotting adventure promises classic Indiana Jones action, archaeology, and supernatural mysteries set during the timeline of the original films.
Aaron, who previously relaunched Marvel’s Star Wars comics, said writing Indiana Jones has been a lifelong dream, while Kuder called the iconic adventurer a perfect fit for comics.
The new series arrives as Marvel also prepares to reprint its classic 1980s Indiana Jones stories in two deluxe hardcover collections, Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Book I and Book II, which arrive in September.

Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium #1 features a cover by Bryan Hitch, with variant covers by Alex Ross and Aaron Kuder, and goes on sale December 9.
