Debuting during the MTV Movie Awards last night, a new trailer (but really more of just a clip) debuted that features 4 of the members of the “Loser’s Club”, including Stranger Things’ Finn Wolfhard taking over for Seth Green as Ritchie, heading into the sewer domain of Pennywise, who is terrorizing their hometown of Derry, ME. Unlike the original miniseries with Tim Curry, the new IT will focus exclusively on the kids and their battle against the demonic clown and, if it does well enough at the box office, the plan is to do a sequel following the group as adults. Bill Skarsgard is playing a much more Victorian/classical looking clown than Curry’s more Bozo inspired Pennywise and it’s directed by Andrés Muschietti, who co-directed Mama. It’s out on September 8th and you can check out the new trailer below.
