It seems like there’s always a horror movie to kick off the new year at the box office and for 2019, that movie is Escape Room. Confirming how mainstream and popular the brain busting tourist attractions are, Escape Room puts six strangers into an elaborate but deadly version and they must solve the puzzles and make their way through the rooms or die. It seems to be pulling in influences from various movies like the Saw franchise, The Game and Cube and, if nothing else, the various rooms the characters encounter look visually interesting, like an upside down pool hall. Tyler Labine, Deborah Ann Woll, Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, Jay Ellis and Nik Dodani are the victims of the Escape Room and the movie is directed by Adam Robitel who directed The Taking of Deborah Logan and Insidious: The Last Key. It’s out on January 4th and you can check out the trailer below.
