The Boys comes home on Blu-ray this week with Season 1 and 2 along with classics like The Untouchables, Double Indemnity, For a Few Dollars More and A Fistful of Dollars on 4K, the 50th-anniversary edition of 1776, Death Wish II on 4K and more on DVD and Blu-ray.

There have been numerous “legacy sequels” of varying degrees of quality over the last few years but Top Gun: Maverick easily stands out as one of, if not the, best ones yet with, among other things, some truly jaw-dropping aerial action.

Top Gun: Maverick went supersonic at the box office this past weekend, delivering a huge opening that was the biggest of Tom Cruise’s career.

After his death at the hands of Hughie, Butcher, and Frenchie, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) was forced by Vought to perform the ridiculous power ballad “Never Truly Vanish” at his memorial service, a song that was nominated for an Emmy in real-life and actually sung by Moriarty herself.

Horizon Zero Dawn and Gran Turismo are getting adaptation under the Playstation Productions banner, Speed Racer is coming to Apple TV+, the fantastic Ray Liotta passed away, Law Abiding Citizen has a sequel in development, a new Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, was announced and more in this week’s News Shotgun.
