The Dark Knight Rises features elements of The Dark Knight Returns but this fall you can get the actual adaptation of Frank Miller’s masterpiece with the latest DC Animated movie. Peter Weller plays the aged Bruce Wayne, who has been retired for 10 years but must become the Batman again when a vicious gang calling themselves The Mutants are poised to take over Gotham. It looks like a great adaptation of the graphic novel with Part 1 looking to focus on Batman taking on the leader of the mutants and meeting his last Robin, Carrie Kelly. I didn’t see any of Batman’s normal rogues who appear in DKR, like Two Face and Joker but that might be in Part 2 along with the climactic final battle between Superman and Batman.
