After a tease on Valentine’s Day, the first full trailer for Ghostbusters is here and it’s…OK? Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones are the new paranormal fighting team, with Wiig, McCarthy and McKinnon being the scientist team and Jones joins up later on as their equivalent of Winston, the street smart regular member of the team. Chris Hemsworth fills in for Annie Potts as the new team’s secretary but you barely see him in the new trailer and it feels like Ray’s personality was split between Wiig, McCarthy and McKinnon and there’s no real Venkman or Egon equivalent (Wiig can more than match Bill Murray’s swagger but she seems kind of mousey here). The ghosts do look pretty cool, keeping the original style but updating them with CG and there’s some new twists with how they work, being able to possess people for example. Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids and Spy, is directing and the movie is out in July, check out the trailer below.
