You may have thought Trolls was hitting sometime this summer since Justin Timberlake’s single “Can’t Stop the Feeling” is a contender for Summer Song of 2016 and is playing incessently on radio stations around the country but it’s actually not out until November and the first trailer has arrived. Timberlake stars as Branch, a grump outcast Troll who is recruited by the peppy leader of the Trolls, Poppy (Anna Kendrick), to help her when a creature called a Bergen threatens the Troll world. James Corden, Gwen Stefani, Russell Brand, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Zooey Deschanel lend their voices as well and Stefani and Timberlake have new songs, like the aforementioned “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. It’s definitely bright and colorful but it seems pretty much just meant for little kids and their parents who get dragged along. Personally, we’ll stick with this version of the Trolls:
