It seems like every other movie or so, James Franco dives into some bizarre character, the most bizarre of which is coming up in the adaptation of The Disaster Artist, but in March, he’ll play a creepy 19th century doctor in The Institute. Playing Dr. Cairns, Franco uses “unorthodox” methods to cure the patients coming to Rosewood Institute of their various mental illness. Eric Roberts and Tim Blake Nelson play Franco’s co-workers and Allie Gallerani plays the main new patient, Isabelle, who Cairn becomes obsessed with. Topher Grace and Pamela Anderson(?) show up as well and it looks like things eventually turn into a Wicker Man/Eyes Wide Shut level of insanity. It’s out on March 3rd and you can check out the trailer below.
