Despite all odds, the current Planet of the Apes franchise is an incredible summer blockbuster series with brains and brawn and an incredible central performance from Andy Serkis as ape leader Caesar. This July’s War for the Planet of the Apes seems like it will up the bar even more as the final battle between ape and human begins. Following the events of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, where the final chance at peace was shattered, Woody Harrelson’s Colonel has emerged as the brutal leader of the human army, determined to wipe out apekind before they become the dominant species of the planet. After a devastating loss, Caesar takes it upon himself to take out the Colonel once and for all. Matt Reeves is back from Dawn to direct War and it looks as incredible as Dawn did as far as the cinematography and locations and the action looks incredible as well. This is definitely one of my most anticipated movies of the summer and you can check out the new trailer below.
