We seem to be in a renaissance for Stephen King adaptations with things like the new IT, 11.22.63, The Dark Tower, Gerald’s Game and the mash up series Castle Rock and Spike is getting on the action with a new take on The Mist. Recognizing the greatness that is the Frank Darabont movie, showrunner Christian Torpe says this won’t be a straight remake but an expansion on the idea of the novella, expanding to multiple locations in the small town that is engulfed in the deadly Mist, like the church and the mall, with drama boiling up at each location. It also seems like there’s not just mysterious creatures in The Mist but it has some sort of psychological effect as well. Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Spector, Frances Conroy, Luke Cosgrove and Darren Pettie star and it starts on June 22nd on Spike. Check out the trailer below.
