During the weekend’s Grammy Awards, Disney unveiled a special look teaser trailer for their upcoming live action remake of Aladdin and, among other things, it showed off the insanely horrifying way Will Smith is going to be portraying the Genie. Mena Massoud stars as Aladdin, Naomi Scott is Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari is Jafar and, much like Beauty and the Beast, the movie is really going to just be the animated movie in live action, with the same plot beats and even all the songs, although there will be two new songs in addition to the likes of “Friend Like Me” and “Whole New World” by the legendary Al Menken and The Greatest Showmen songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Guy Ritchie is directing the remake and it’s out on May 24th this summer. Check out the teaser below.
