The most powerful being in the Watchmen’s alternate universe is back in the new full trailer for HBO’s Watchmen that was revealed at Comic-Con. Created by Damon Lindelof, the new Watchmen series picks things up in the present day of the Watchmen universe, where the police have donned masks to hide their identities after a brutal massacre of members of the Tulsa PD at the hands of a cult inspired by Rorschach. More of the advanced tech seems to be out in the world as well, as Don Johnson’s Chief Crawford seems to have access to a vehicle like Nite Owl’s Owlship, among other things. Dr. Manhattan has also been apparently working on creating life on Mars and returns to Earth in the stinger clip of the trailer. Regina King, Tim Blake Nelson, Lou Gossett Jr, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II co-star and Jeremy Irons is playing an older Ozymandias. It looks pretty great and definitely feels like if you fast-forwarded the movie to the present day. Check out the new trailer below.
